 Blues in the Afternoon Mike Jacobs has hosted Blues in the Afternoon on KIOS-FM since its inception on October 4, 1994. Since that time, he has produced more than 500 shows and featured more than 8,000 songs. From classic acoustic to the latest Blues music, Blues in the Afternoon is the place to be. Tune in for Blues in the Afternoon Mondays at 1pm. Jazz in the Afternooon Jazz in the Afternoon is your afternoon home for the very best of jazz from its first full century of existence! Hosts of the weekly program are Chris Cooke(Tuesdays and Thursdays) and Mike Jacobs(Wednesdays and Fridays). Chris hosts a mix of classic and new jazz recordings Tuesdays and Thursdays; Mike hosts all new jazz on Wednesdays and classic jazz on Fridays. Listen to Jazz in the Afternoon Tuesdays-Fridays at 1-3pm.

If you are a fan of live jazz music but don't have the cash at the moment to travel to the Big Apple then NPR Music offers the next best thing.
The Live from the Village Vanguard Concert Series presents performances from the top artists in jazz.
The next concert in this series will present Jazz Pianist Fred Hersch and his Trio on July 22.
The most recent concert in the series presented music with saxophonist Bill McHenry and his band which included the legendary drummer Paul Motian. The concert was for fans of the cutting edge--McHenry and associates fearlessly burned through a strong set.
In May the series presented Allen Toussaint's The Bright Mississippi Band. Toussant's impeccable piano artisty was astonishing. A listener could revel in a timeless music of sublime joy.
Earlier concerts include an April 8th performance by the Tom Harrell Quintet and a March 17th set with the David Sanchez Quartet. If you missed these shows they are archived for download on demand at www.npr.org/music .
The Live at the Village Vanguard series of live concerts takes place at one of the world's preeminent jazz venues, the Village Vanguard.. Renowned for its rich history and great acoustics, over 100 commercial albums have been recorded within the triangle-shaped basement room in New York's Greenwich Village.
Live At The Village Vanguard is a collaboration between WBGO and NPR Music presenting live broadcasts from the legendary club, both on air and streaming online.
