Athletes at Creighton University are excelling both on the field and in the classroom, according to the Division 1 Graduation Success Rate Report.
The report was released in October by the NCAA. Creighton led the Missouri Valley Conference in student-athlete graduation success with a rate of 94%.
Steve Brace is the Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations at Creighton. He says Creighton has a strong academic reputation and the coaches recruit with that in mind.
"When our kids get here, they are better prepared. I think they have a better understanding of what needs to be done to be successful. Our coaches do a great job of fostering that with the support they give us in supporting the kids. So I think that’s where it starts.”
Creighton’s graduation success rate was tied for 27th out of 340 schools nationally.
