"Green on Green" Features Lots of Local Talent

Viewers will see plenty of local talent at the world premiere of Green on Green tomorrow night at Aksarben Cinema.

Tom Knoblauch, writer and director of Green on Green, and-co founder of the multimedia company Aksarben Creative, says this is very much a Nebraska project.  Most of their cast is from the Nebraska Wesleyan Theater Department and the music is by local musicians.

Knoblauch describes Green on Green as a comedy in which the main character, played by Rachel Dinan, is seeking an epiphany experience for her “call to arms” memoir about environmentalism.

“And so the narrative sort of takes this character on an ecology research trip into western Nebraska, where she is immersed in nature.  And the idea is, if she can put herself in the position where someone might have that epiphany, maybe she can come up with the narrative to make the memoir work – basically come up with the dramatic narrative she needs retroactively, instead of having one genuinely. So it’s a comedy about those contrivances and how she sort of finds herself in the process”

Knoblauch says the next step will be film festivals, including the Prairie Lights Film Festival in October, and that Green on Green will eventually be available on Amazon Video.

The showing is at 7 p.m., Thursday, August 9th, at Aksarben Cinema.
