KIOS Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with Night of Latin Jazz

Evening to feature Caramoor Jazz Festival

Omaha, Nebraska – On Thursday, October 11, the students of the Omaha Public Schools Careeer Center will kick off the evening on Jazz From Studio One with an hour of Latin jazz beginning at 8:00pm. Dizzy Gillespie, Jerry Gonzalez, Laurindo Almeida, and Astrud Gilberto will be among the artists featured on the program.

At 9:00pm it's the 2007 Caramoor Jazz Festival from Katonah, New York. A three hour special that will highlight Latin American jazz. The program will be hosted by pianist Geri Allen. You'll hear performances by Allen, David Sanchez, Steve Turre, Jovino Santos Nevo, Eddie Palmieri, Paquito D'Rivera and many others. The special is brought to you by WFTM in Chicago.
