Man charged in truck death found not competent for trial

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A Ralston man accused of running down another man with this pickup truck last year has been ruled mentally incompetent to stand trial.

The Omaha World-Herald reports that 34-year-old Dustin Salisbury was charged with second-degree murder in the June 2017 death of 23-year-old Jessi Domingo. A judge on Friday ordered Salisbury to be committed to the Lincoln Regional Center for treatment.

Salisbury is a military veteran who has said he suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Authorities have said Salisbury rammed into Domingo with his truck, sending Domingo flying into a garage and killing him.

Salisbury called 911 to say he had crashed his truck, but didn't mention Domingo until officers questioned him. He then told police that he had argued with a Hispanic man in his yard, before blacking out.
