Nebraska troopers seize nearly 47 pounds of meth from SUV

PAPILLION, Neb. (AP) — State troopers seized nearly 47 pounds (21 kilograms) of methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Interstate 80.

A Nebraska State Patrol news release says a trooper pulled over a sport utility vehicle Friday night in Sarpy County near Omaha because it had been following too closely. A patrol dog alerted troopers to the odor of a controlled substance, and the meth was found under the SUV floorboards. The meth's street value was estimated at $400,000.

Three people in the car were arrested on suspicion of possession for sale.
