OPD Fireworks Ordinance Reminder

With the Independence Day holiday nearing, the Omaha Police Department have issued a reminder about Omaha’s fireworks ordinance.

Consumer fireworks may be discharged in Omaha from June 25th through July 4th between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. by those 16 years or older. The ordinance also covers dates in December. Minors, 12-15 years old, may set off fireworks if supervised by an adult.

Celebratory gunfire is illegal within the city limits. Any bullet discharged into the sky must land somewhere, and poses significant risk of injury or death.
