Power restored to Creighton campus following Tuesday outage

Power is back on in 12 buildings at Creighton University that lost electricity Tuesday morning.

A statement on the university’s web site says power was restored overnight. Two circuits failed Tuesday morning, causing the power outage in buildings west of 24th Street. Some buildings also lost back-up power. The outage hit two residence halls, as well as the Skutt Student Center and the Kiewit Fitness Center.

Creighton officials are still looking in to what caused the power outage, as well as a steam leak. It’s not known if those things are connected.
