Jazz from Studio One on KIOS
Alternate Thursdays, 8pm - 9pm
The Radio Broadcasting Students of the Omaha Public Schools Career Center present an hour of jazz on Thursday nights at 8:00pm on a bi-weekly basis, sharing the time slot with Jazz Profiles. The students will present programs that follow a certain theme. You'll hear shows that present a particular style or instrument, birthday tributes to jazz legends and shows that focus on a particular year in jazz history.
May 3: Great Jazz Trumpeters: Music from Dizzy Gillespie, Freddie Hubbard and Louis Armstrong
are among a powerhouse lineup of jazz trumpeters on tonight's show.
May 17: Latin Jazz, Standards & The Hammond B3: Howard Rumsey, Karrin Allyson and Jimmy Smith are featured in this eclectic hour of Latin jazz, The Great American Songbook and Hammond B-3 organ grooves.
