The 2008 Jazz Heritage Series

Final program to air September 25th.

Omaha, Nebraska – KIOS will air the final installment of the 2008 Jazz Heritage Series featuring The USAF Airmen of Note this week.

The final program, airing Thursday, September 25th, features the talents of drummer Butch Miles. Miles played with the Count Basie Orchestra from 1975-1979 and again from 1997-2007. He also has played with such luminaries as Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme', Ella Fitzgerald and Woody Herman.

The 2008 Jazz Heritage Series

Second program to air September 18th.

Omaha, Nebraska – KIOS will air the 2008 Jazz Heritage Series featuring The USAF Airmen of Note with special guests on Thursdays at 8:00 this month.

The second program, airing September 18th, features the talents of Paquito D' Rivera, a latin jazz legend who is an 8-time Grammy award winner. Most recently he won for Best Classical Recording for "Riberas" with the Buenos Aires String Quartet.

Omaha, Nebraska – KIOS will air the 2008 Jazz Heritage Series Featuring The USAF Airmen of Note with special guests on Thursdays at 8:00 beginning September 11th.

The first program features Grammy nominated vocalist Karrin Allyson. Allyson has recorded Nine CDs for Concord that include many styles and genres including the American Songbook, bossa nova, blues, and contemporary pop.
