Arturo Sandoval to perform in Omaha

Cuban trumpeter is a master of Latin Jazz

Omaha, Nebrasks – Legendary Cuban Trumpeter Arturo Sandoval is scheduled to perform this weekend in Omaha.

Equally at home onstage with the world's greatest symphony orchestras as well as today's best jazz and pop musicians, Sandoval will perform one night only at the Kiewit Concert Hall at the Holland Performing Arts Center in downtown Omaha.

Showtime is Saturday, April 28th at 8pm.

Saxophonist to perform at the Grand Olde Players Theatre this weekend

Omaha, Nebraska – The Jazz on Stage series at the Grande Olde Players theatre continues Sunday with Saxophonist Mark Benson and Friends.

Benson is an accomplished saxophonist who plays with the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra and also is a composer and educator.

He will be joined Sunday on stage by Dan Cerveny (keyboards), Carlos Figueroa (percussion) and Jerry DeVore (bass).

Omaha, Nebraska – KIOS will present a special program Friday afternoon in honor of Jazz Appreciation Month.

"Jazz At Lincoln Center-Stand Up For Jazz" will start off the Friday afternoon jazz lineup.

Recorded last October by Jazz at Lincoln Center at its new home, Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York, the program is a delightful mix of jazz and comedy.

The program features the legendary comedic actor, comedian, composer, author and lover of jazz, Bill Cosby in concert.

Kerry Strayer to perform at Nebraska Jazz Festival

Saxophonist to appear with members of the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra

Omaha, Nebraska – Kansas City saxophonist Kerry Strayer and selected members of the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra will wrap up the Nebraska Jazz Festival on Saturday night.

The Nebraska Jazz Festival is a non-competitive festival featuring high school jazz ensembles from across the region.

Strayer and company will perform arrangements from his jazz ensemble, the New Kansas City 7.
