Nearly 123,000 Iowans voted in GOP caucus

Omaha, NE – A UNO political scientist says the results of Tuesday night's Iowa caucus show divisions in the state's Republican party.

Eight votes separated the caucus winner, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, from second-place finisher Rick Santorum, a former Senator from Pennsylvania. Nearly 123,000 Iowans participated in the GOP caucus.

Caucus day in Iowa

Omaha, NE – The Pottawattamie County Republican Party is preparing for more than double the turnout at Tuesday's caucus than in 2008.

The caucus begins at 7pm. It's the first vote in the nation for GOP presidential candidates. Naomi Leinen, co-chairman of the Pottawattamie County Republican Party, says they won't be endorsing a candidate.
