Join the Memories for Kids Guild in a Cinco de Mayo Fiesta for a virtual day of celebration and giving! Our sixth annual spring event will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. It will be a day to celebrate our sponsors and donors, family memory recipients and the work and mission of Memories for Kids. A 10 a.m. virtual mimosa toast will kick off the day, followed by videos of Mexican recipes, real-time updates on the donation tracker and videos of past memory recipients, all culminating with a virtual Cinco de Mayo happy hour at 5 p.m. We hope you will enjoy celebrating Cinco de Mayo and Memories for Kids however you feel most comfortable. In 2020, the Covid pandemic did not decrease the number of memory requests to help families. Fourteen memories were granted last year, including 12 during the pandemic. Families enjoyed trips near and far; Okoboji and Honey Creek, IA, Colorado, California and Florida. We have also given keepsake items, such as fingerprint necklaces and photo blankets, when a parent is in hospice. These experiences help children create a special memory with their family during a time that is otherwise very difficult and filled with sadness. Help us continue to create lifelong memories by giving today.
