(Omaha, NE) -- New safety features could be installed along Nebraska highways. The Nebraska Department of Transportation is studying the possibility of installing cable barriers in the medians on divided highways. The state of Iowa has installed 300-miles of barriers on its road system. The barriers, which cost about 250-thousand-dollars per mile, are designed to help prevent crossover collisions and the impact of out-of-control vehicles.
