(Des Moines, IA) -- People could face jail time if they lie about having a service animal. Governor Kim Reynolds signed a bill into law yesterday that charges a person with a simple misdemeanor for misrepresenting a service animal. There are multiple steps to a possible conviction of the crime, including a previous warning. Service dogs were around Reynolds as she signed the measure.
