Award Winner "The Woodsman" Opens at The Bluebarn Theatre May 16th, co-Directors Discuss on KIOS-FM

The Bluebarn Theatre brings in a 2016 Obie Award Winning production which opens May 16th and runs for a month.  The Woodsman features Omaha actors working directly with the award winning production team from New York to make a magical night at the theatre.

Based on the forgotten writings of L. Frank Baum, The Woodsman tells the origin story of the Tin Man from the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. This hauntingly beautiful love story is told through original music, physical storytelling, and innovative puppetry.  Members of Strangemen Theatre Company re-create their Obie Award-winning experience with an ensemble of Omaha professionals.  Follow ‘Nick Chopper’ on a magical adventure filled with dangers and wonders that are breathtaking to behold.

Directors Claire Karpen and James Ortiz join Mike Hogan "Live & Local" to discuss the production, the magic, and the joy of doing this show.  Movement Director Will Gallacher and Puppet Master Amanda A. Lederer are also present in the studio.
