"Rollin' to Colon" Event June 16 Raises Awareness & Funds to End Cancer, One Survivor Chats on KIOS

Colon cancer is the #2 killer in this country.  Yet early detection can save your life.  The Great Plains Colon Cancer Task Force wants everyone to know how to prevent this deadly disease.

"Rollin’ to Colon" is a bicycle ride event for adults and kids alike.  Several routes have been mapped,  all starting at DC West High School in Valley, NE., including a 53 mile loop to Colon, Nebraska.  Children are also welcome and encouraged to participate in a short ride around Valley, NE which guides them to the City Park and back.

This bicycling event, on June 16th, raises awareness about colorectal cancer and helps to support the Great Plains Colon Cancer Task Force mission of Education - Detection - Prevention.  Their goal is to get people talking about colon cancer to increase screening rates and save lives!

Chris Snowardt, colon cancer survivor and Co-Director of this year’s event chats with Mike Hogan "Live & Local" about beating cancer, early detection, and the importance and fun fo this family friendly event.
