A volunteer group is working to expand North Platte's trail system. The North Platte Trails Network Committee has raised 20 percent of the cost for the West State Farm Road connection trail project. An 80-20 matching grant from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will help fund the 254-thousand-dollar project cost. The North Platte City Council has approved the maintenance plan for the trail.
