Mailboxes in Lincoln Left Alone As Evnen Promises Voting Applications

Early voting applications will be mailed to Nebraska residents for the November general election.  Nebraska Secretary of State Bon Evnen says the applications will be sent to any registered voter whose county did not already send them one.  The first mail-in ballots will be sent to voters on September 28th, and the deadline to request an early ballot is October 23rd.  KMTV reports at least three mailboxes in downtown Lincoln near the state capitol were tagged for removal. A USPS spokesman didn't return a request for comment, but by late yesterday morning the tags had been removed. The U.S. Postmaster General announced yesterday afternoon that all changes to the postal service will be delayed until after the election.
