The number of COVID-19 cases is continuing to climb in Nebraska.  Health officials reported 498 new cases yesterday, bringing the total in the state to 48-thousand-757.  The coronavirus has claimed 507 lives in Nebraska since the beginning of the pandemic. Health officials say that Douglas county's positivity rate had increased to 12-point-five-percent by the end of the week ending on October 3rd.  There have been more than 17-thousand coronavirus cases and 196 deaths in Douglas County during the pandemic. City Council members voted yesterday afternoon to extend Omaha's mask ordinance until November 24th. The ordinance has been in place since August, and it was set to expire on October 20th.
