Nebraska will get thousand dollars that was taken from a traffic stop by a Lancaster County deputy. The money is part of nearly a million dollars that was being transported in a rental car from O'Hare Airport in Chicago. Lancaster County Sheriff's pulled over the car on Interstate 80 in Nebraska in April 2021, but the money was put in the federal government's possession. The driver and passenger in the car were let go when they denied the money was theirs. It's not known why the money is being returned to Nebraska.
