Former Senator Ernie Chambers has formally filed to run again for the Nebraska Legislature. Chambers is the longest serving state senator in Nebraska history. If he's elected again, he'll be the first state senator to take office a third time after terming out twice before. He is running against Senator Terrell McKinney from Omaha, who is seeking his second term. Chambers endorsed McKinney in 2020.
