The 2016 in 2016 Campaign encourages Nebraskans to sign up for health care coverage

The “2016 in 2016 Enrollment Campaign” is an effort to enroll or renew more than 2000 people in health care coverage this month.

Eric Saviano, Statewide Coordinator for Enroll Nebraska, says the campaign is meant to get people through the doors of the enrollment assisters in Nebraska.

Saviano says there will be several special events to promote enrollment assistance, outreach efforts to let people know where they can get assistance and extended hours at various organizations so people have time to meet and work with enrollment assisters.

"Folks who are eligible need to move forward with an application, sign up at healthcare.gov or reach out to enrollment assister before January 31st to get covered at all this year.  Anyone who signs up between the 15th and the 31st will have coverage that starts March 1st.”

Saviano says there are already 79,500 people signed up for coverage in Nebraska which is about 5,000 more than all of last year.

He says this shows Nebraskans value their health insurance.

When meeting with an enrollment assister, he says you need to bring your federal income tax return from last year, your ID and other proof of income.
