Big Changes at KIOS-FM - Voices Moving to New Places, On-air and Online

Emily Chen-Newton/KIOS

New "All Things Considered" Host Mike Hogan

In the interest of bringing our listeners in the greater Omaha/Council Bluffs community more local programming and current news, KIOS-FM is happy to announce some changes that started this week.

Matthias Jeske joined KIOS-FM in June of 2018 and has proven himself a very capable, personable, and talented host.  As of Monday October 28th, he was promoted to the role of “Morning Edition” host.  And we are very excited to have him with the team full-time and to start our weekday mornings with him.

This move has allowed previous “Morning Edition” host, Mike Hogan (who joined KIOS-FM two years ago), to move to afternoons where he will host “All Things Considered” starting today, October 29th.

The time change for Mike makes it possible to expand the “Live & Local” interview segments, both on-air and online.  As we move forward, Mike will interview local people, groups, and organizations for broadcast in both the mornings and the afternoons, giving the greater Omaha/Council Bluffs community double the opportunity to hear about the events, arts, news, and charitable organizations that are active in this community.  In addition, more people driving to better the Omaha community will have the opportunity to tell their stories.

KIOS-FM will continue expanding the local on-air programming, from “Jazz in the Afternoon,” “Last Call,” “Mundo Latino,” “Live & Local” interviews, and feature stories of local origination to the “Made in the Middle” podcast, expanded interviews, and daily local news headlines available online at your convenience.  All to provide you, our supporters, with the information and entertainment you need, deserve, and support.

If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to write us at Listener@KIOS.org.  And thank you for your support!
