City of Omaha, Fire Department group reach tentative agreement

The city of Omaha has reached a tentative contract agreement with the Omaha Fire Department Management Group.

Mayor Jean Stothert’s office announced the agreement in a news release Friday. The Group includes the Fire Chief and three Assistant Chiefs.

The four-year agreement includes an 8 percent wage increase over the term of the contract. It clarifies language regarding pension eligibility, and makes no changes to health care benefits.

The contract must still be approved by the Personnel Board and the City Council.
