'Dueling Curators' Chat "Live & Local" about Bemis Center's Double Opening on KIOS-FM

The Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts has done it again!  Two new exhibits are opening the same night.  Rachel Adams, Bemis Chief Curator and Director of Programs has curated Jillian Mayer: TIMESHARE.  In TIMESHARE, Miami native Jillian Mayer explores how art can function and/or aid during times of disaster or when the planet becomes uninhabitable.

And Sylvie Fortin, Bemis Curator-in-Residence, has her own show, Richard Ibghy and Marilou Lemmens: Look, it’s daybreak, dear, time to sing.  This show contains new works by the Canadian artist duo, some researched and produced in Omaha this past summer, examine hospitality and care of birds and avian communication with humans.

Both curators stop by the KIOS-FM studios to chat with Mike Hogan, "Live & Local" about how they got the ideas for their respective shows, how they went about bringing these exhibitions to fruition and how art can save lives.

Both shows open on Wednesday, November 20, with an Exhibition Opening Reception from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts (724 S. 12th Street).  The event is free and open to the public with free parking.  Both shows run through February, 2020
