FBI's new head of Omaha Division started career in the city

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A man who began his FBI career more than 25 years ago investigating white collar crime in Omaha has been named as the new head of the agency's office in the city.

The agency announced Tuesday that Randall Thysse will become the special agent in charge of the Omaha Division in February. He will oversee FBI employees in both Nebraska and Iowa.

The Omaha World-Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1NSVtta ) that Thysse was most recently the deputy assistant director for the FBI's Operational Program Branch of the Criminal Justice Information Services Division. He oversaw efforts in crime reduction and terrorism prevention.

FBI spokeswoman Sandra Breault says Thysse succeeds Thomas Metz, who left the agency in November and began work in the private sector.
