Governor Unveils Scholarship Program

(Lincoln, NE)  --  Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts is unveiling a proposed scholarship program.  The Nebraska Talent Scholarships program, which was announced yesterday, would provide four-thousand-dollar annual scholarships for students in certain majors at the University of Nebraska, the three state colleges and six community colleges.  The Omaha World Herald reports the scholarship program is designed to address critical workforce needs in the state.  If approved, the program would provide 565 scholarships at a cost of two-point-two-million-dollars in the first year.
