Kerry Strayer to perform at Nebraska Jazz Festival

Omaha, Nebraska – Kansas City saxophonist Kerry Strayer and selected members of the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra will wrap up the Nebraska Jazz Festival on Saturday night.

The Nebraska Jazz Festival is a non-competitive festival featuring high school jazz ensembles from across the region.

Strayer and company will perform arrangements from his jazz ensemble, the New Kansas City 7.

Kansas City saxophonist Kerry Strayer is active as a band leader, recording artist and private instructor. He leads both the New Kansas City 7 and the Kerry Strayer Orchestra, and has released six recordings including the critically acclaimed "Jeru Blue - A Tribute to Gerry Mulligan" with Randy Brecker and "Mentor" with Gary Foster.

The Kerry Strayer/Nebraska Jazz Orchestra concert will be held Saturday, March 10, at O'Donnell Auditorium on the campus of Nebraska Wesleyan University, 5000 St. Paul Avenue in
Lincoln, Nebraska. Showtime is 7:30pm.
