NE Covid Total Now Over 31,000; DCHD Closes Another Testing Site

Omaha World Herald

The number of COVID-19 cases in Nebraska is now more than 31-thousand.  As of yesterday, there had been 31-thousand-40 cases in the state since the start of the pandemic.  There have been 371 coronavirus-related deaths in Nebraska. Douglas County health officials say a COVID-19 testing site in South Omaha is closing because of staffing issues.  Health Director Dr. Adi Pour said the site near 50th and G Streets is closing this month because the employees working at the site need to return to their regular work.  The site had been funded and staffed by the county, Nebraska Medicine, and OneWorld Community health centers.  Dr. Pour says cases do continue to rise in Nebraska, though she says hospital bed capacity in Douglas County can handle those levels.
