Nebraska Science Fest takes place next week

The first annual Nebraska Science Festivaltakes place April 12th through the 14th all over the city.

Kacie Gerard, Special Events Assistant for UNMC, says the festival is a 3-day celebration of science.

She says events will be held at different locations throughout Omaha with a few events in Ashland and Lincoln as well.

Gerard says the Nebraska Science Festival offers hands-on activities for all ages and features all types of science.

She says one of the highlights is the science expo set for Saturday, April 13th.

"During that time, there will be over 25 booths of hands-on science experiments, everyone from groups from UNO to the Truck Farm Omaha to Brownell Talbot Schools.  And there will be different activities for people to come and see at that time.  CAPOW, the Chemistry and Physics on Wheels Group from UNO, will be doing two presentations.  And also the dancing scientist.”

Gerard says the dancing scientist does hip hop and science experiments.

The science expo takes place at the Durham Museum.
