Nebraska State Fair sees highest attendance since its move

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (AP) — Officials say attendance at this year's Nebraska State Fair was the highest since the fair moved to Grand Island from Lincoln in 2010.

More than 352,000 people attended the fair, which closed Monday after opening on Aug. 28. The 11-day total was nearly 11 percent higher than last year's attendance. The previous record for the Grand Island site was nearly 337,000 in 2012.

The highest attendance for one day at the 2015 fair was Aug. 29, when nearly 62,000 fairgoers entered the fairgrounds.
