New director chosen for Nebraska disabilities agency

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — A new director is taking over a Nebraska state agency that serves people with developmental disabilities.

Gov. Pete Ricketts announced Monday that he has appointed Courtney Miller of Lincoln to lead the division within the Department of Health and Human Services.

Miller, of Lincoln, has served as the division's acting director for the last three months. She replaces Yolanda Webb, who abruptly resigned in April after state officials discovered Webb had inflated her academic credentials.

Miller has worked at the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services since 2008. She previously worked for the Nebraska State Patrol, the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services and the Iowa Department of Human Services.

She holds a master's degree in public administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Her salary will be $135,000.
