The Offutt Air Show returns at the end of July

July 30th and 31st, Offutt Air Force Base will host their 25-50-75 Offutt Anniversary Air Show.

These years represent 25 years of nonstop deployment, 50 years at the base, and 75 years as a unit.

With free admission and several different activities to enjoy, grounds director Captain John Nagy anticipates a quarter million people will visit the base during the last weekend in July.

While the air show is designed to provide the public with a fun day, Nagy explains what it means to soldiers on the base.

"Sometimes you need to be able to take that break and actually see what it is that you support on a daily basis. All too often we are busy making mission happen and this is one of those opportunities where you get to get real close to the mission and present what we do to the public directly. We do so many wonderful things and this is an opportunity to show them up close and personal.”

Nagy says there will be aircraft on display dating back to World War II as well as new aircraft that hasn’t been seen in past air shows.

Gates for the air show will be open from 9 am to 5:30 p.m. with parking available both on and off base.
