Omaha, NE – Author and Studio 360 host Kurt Andersen returned to his hometown Friday to introduce a series of ten films at Film Streams about life in the Midwest. The repertory series, called Out There: Nebraska and the Great Plains in the Movies, began with two showings of the 1973 film Badlands. The series also includes About Schmidt, Election, Fargo and Boys Don't Cry.
Andersen also has written three novels. His latest, Heyday, was released in March. Studio 360 airs from 9 to 10 AM Thursdays on Omaha Public Radio. Andersen sat down with Omaha Public Radio's Katie Knapp to talk about his role as guest curator at Film Streams and some of his more memorable Studio 360 guests.
