Omaha Performing Arts opens new Skyview Terrace

Omaha’s newest indoor/outdoor roof top lounge opened recently at the Holland Center.

Joan Squires, President of Omaha Performing Arts, says Skyview Terrace offers one of the best skyline views of downtown Omaha.

The outdoor space is open to both Omaha performing arts patrons as well as the general public through September 27th and is also available to rent.

Squires says the floor was originally constructed with doors there that would allow for the creation of just such a space.

But she explains OPA didn’t have the opportunity to finish the space until they received a gift from Todd and Susan Johnson.

Squires says the funds allowed OPA to buy the necessary furniture and railings and install some much-needed restrooms inside.

"You don’t have to come to a performance.  You can come up here and enjoy the view.  You can have some drinks, have some snacks and enjoy the view with your friends.  You can also rent the space.  We’ve already had one or two events and have a number coming up.  So it’s available on the weekends and other times.  And then the space will certainly be open during performances.”

The Skyview Terrace is open Mondays through Thursdays from 4:30 to 10:30 p.m. and one hour before Holland performances, year round.

In addition to Skyview Terrace, OPA has also added the Capstan Lounge, located on Tier One of the Holland.  It’s an additional patron area overlooking the open Mammel Courtyard.
