Omaha's police chief wants to stay on the job. Chief Todd Schmaderer is deferring his retirement eligibility and wants to continue in his role for up to five more years. Mayor Jean Stothert's office made the announcement on Wednesday. Schmaderer was eligible to retire last month after 25 years on the force in Omaha. He's been chief of police since 2012.
