Omaha To Take Months To Pay Pothole Claims

(Omaha, NE)  --  The City of Omaha says it may take months to pay back claims made for pothole damage to cars.  The city says it has received over two-thousand claims since the beginning of the year and a little more than half have been reviewed and assigned case numbers.  The city has also been trying to determine if the damage from the claims actually occurred in the city, if the person filing the claim owns the car, and if the damage was actually caused by a pothole.  The city attorney says anyone who files a claim will get a letter saying whether the city will pay for the damage and why.
