OPL offers holiday activities throughout the month

During the month of December, all of the Omaha Public Library branches will be offering holiday activities for the whole family.

Emily Getzschman, Marketing Manager, says events include visits from Santa, open houses and cookie decorating.

She says guests can create ugly sweaters, put together special holiday cards and build gingerbread houses.  Getzschman says her personal favorite is the live musical performances.

"Hearing anything from piano students to jazz musicians to bronze bells to even a harp.  And for me this is so peaceful and relaxing during the holidays which are hectic and busy.  And you’re kind of being pulled in a bunch of different directions but if you can just take a few minutes to slow down and hear that beautiful holiday music, it really helps get you in the mood.”

For a complete list of events and locations, the website is omahalibrary.org.

Getzschman says a designation of RR means registration is required for that particular activity.

The library branches will offer events through December 30th.
