OPS board still negotiating new contract with superintendent-elect

The Omaha Public Schools board is still working to finalize a contract with superintendent-elect Mark Evans.

The OPS board met for about two hours Saturday morning to discuss the contract. No action was taken, and board Vice President Marian Fey says negotiations are ongoing.

Evans, the current superintendent of the Andover, Kansas, Public Schools, was hired December 17 as OPS’ new leader. Former Ralston Public Schools superintendent Virginia Moon is serving as interim superintendent this school year.
