State Covid Total Nears 16,000; Cases Highest In Douglas/Pottawattamie County

More than 130 new COVID-19 cases are confirmed in Nebraska.  The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services reported 131 new cases yesterday, bringing the statewide total to 15-thousand-883.  There have been 191 COVID-19 deaths statewide.  Nearly one-third of Nebraska's coronavirus cases have been reported in Douglas County. Dozens of new COVID-19 cases are also being reported in Pottawattamie County.  Health officials confirmed 25 new cases in the county yesterday, including 23 cases from Council Bluffs.  There have been 437 coronavirus cases in Pottawattamie County during the pandemic. A Lincoln police officer is testing positive for COVID-19. The police department says the officer who tested positive worked at the recent protests in the city. The officer is now in self-quarantine, and anyone who was in contact with the officer has been notified.
