Tally changes little in Nebraska House race

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — With all the outstanding early ballots in Douglas County now counted, little has changed in Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District race.

Democrat Brad Ashford, who defeated incumbent GOP Representative Lee Terry on Tuesday, garnered about 4,600 more votes than Terry. That news came Friday after Douglas County election officials finished counting some 13,600 early ballots that came in Monday and Tuesday.

The candidates were about 4,000 votes apart hours after the polls closed Tuesday, with thousands more of the early votes left to count. No winner was declared in the race until the next day, when Terry conceded.

The Douglas County Election Commissioner's office says it still has some provisional votes to count. The vote results won't be official until the canvassing board verifies the results later this month.
