Three Midwest Governors Call For New Flood Control Measures

(Council Bluffs, IA)  --  The governors of Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri are calling for changes in flood management on the Missouri River.  Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts says states need to take an active role:

Ricketts, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds and Missouri Governor Mike Parson met with Army Corps of Engineers and FEMA officials in Council Bluffs, Iowa, yesterday to discuss flood recovery efforts and ways to prevent similar incidents in the future.  Each governor stressed a need for the states to work together and for the Corps of Engineers to make critical improvements to prevent a repeat of the current widespread flooding along the Missouri River basin.  The governors plan to hold a similar meeting in three weeks.
