(Lincoln, NE) -- University of Nebraska alum and former WWE announcer "Mean" Gene Okerlund is dead at 76-years-old. Okerlund died yesterday at a hospital in Sarasota, Florida after battling kidney disease, although the cause of his death is not known for sure. He became the first announcer inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006.
