UNO student arrested after allegedly pulling knives on students in library

OPD

A UNO student is in custody after allegedly pulling two knives on students in Criss Library.

Omaha Police say the incident happened at 10:15 this morning. Police say the victim told 21-year-old Leo Labogen to continue a loud call on his cell phone outside. Labogen and the victim allegedly got in to a verbal argument and a witness intervened. Labogen allegedly pulled a knife, and the witness was able to disarm him.

Police say Labogen grew increasingly agitated and pulled a second knife. He was subdued by other students and disarmed. Labogen allegedly had a third knife on him when he was taken in to custody.

Labogen is charged with attempted felony assault and three counts of carrying a concealed weapon.

UNO officials say Criss Library is open and secure, and no students were injured.
