(Omaha, NE) -- Thousands of Omaha-area children are getting a long weekend following Saturday's winter storm. Omaha Public Schools, Omaha Catholic Schools, Douglas County West, Bellevue, Elkhorn, Gretna, Papillion-La Vista, Milliard and Westside Community Schools are among the districts who have canceled classes for today. School officials say a combination of extreme cold-temperatures and snow-packed roads led to their decision to give their students a snow day.
