For over thirty years, Jazz in the Afternoon has brought you mainstream jazz here on KIOS FM. Every Tuesday-Friday from 1:00-3:00PM Chris Cooke and Mike Jacobs(pictured) present the wide spectrum of jazz recordings dating back to the "golden age" of jazz in the 1920's through it's evolution in swing, bop, Latin and other styles right up to today's new releases.  We also have a strong commitment to keeping you up to date on the local scene bringing you artists from the Omaha,  Council Bluffs and Lincoln areas and partnering with local non-profit organizations to publicize major jazz concerts in our area with music and interviews. Tune in Sunday night at 7:00pm for Festivo Alt. Latino with Gabby Moreno & Friends. Gabby Moreno performs with her band in Austin, Texas. Special guests include Gina Chavez, Austin 2015 Musician of the Year, and Chicano Zen bandleader and record producer Michael Ramos, joining together for traditional holiday music from both sides of the border.

Tune in to KIOS Monday night at 8:00pm for An Afro Blue Christmas. This special holiday concert program features Howard University's premiere vocal ensemble Afro Blue, and special guest pianist Cyrus Chestnut, The a-cappela group performs a variety of holiday songs including African-American spirituals, jazz and pop tunes, and classical repertoire. The joyous celebration includes one of a kind arrangements on traditional holiday songs plus new perfect for the holidays and the spirit of Christmas.
