The new report from the National Drought Mitigation Center was released Thursday morning. 98 percent of Nebraska is now in an extreme to an exceptional drought. Last week, it was 91 percent. 22 percent of the state remains in an exceptional drought, the same as last week. 67 percent of Iowa is in an extreme drought, up from 62 percent last week. No areas are in N exceptional drought. The National Drought Mitigation Center predicts above-normal temperatures and below-normal rainfall next week.
