Max I. Walker

Due to concerns surrounding COVID-19, Max I. Walker has made the difficult decision to postpone the 2021 event.

Due to space limitations Max I. Walker is only able to accept donations of long formal dresses and modern wedding gowns until further notice.

Steph Dorland and Casey Walker of Max I. Walker joined Mike Hogan on the “Live & Local” show to talk about the cancellation and the hope that this event will still take place sometime this year.  They have also asked that people please consider donating short or cocktail dresses, mother-of-the-bride dresses, and vintage or other dresses to another local charity at this time.

Max I. Walker is hosting the 13th annual "Ultra Chic Boutique" dress sale on Saturday, February 1st.  The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at "A View on State Street," located at 134th and State streets.  The event will include the standard dress sale (all dresses are sold for $30!) as well as a Dress Raffle Fashion Show.  This part of the event highlights some of the best and most beautiful gowns that have been donated to the sale, and raffles off the ‘first right to purchase’ these special dresses for just $30 to shoppers.  Some of these dresses originally cost hundreds, even a thousand dollars.

All proceeds are donated to the Alzheimer’s Association, Nebraska Chapter.  The 2018 and 2019 sales reached a combined $38,000 for the association.  Dress donations are still being accepted at all Max I. Walker locations. Employees will clean, press, and store the dresses for no charge.

Steph Dorland, (Marketing Director at Max I. Walker), and Casey Walker, (Director of Retail Operations at Max I. Walker) stop by the studios at 33rd and Burt to chat "Live & Local" with Mike Hogan about the event and how Alzheimer's has touched everyone, including the Walker family.

Dresses will be available in all shapes, sizes, and colors.  The event is a more economical and eco-friendly way to shop.  More information can be found at https://www.maxiwalker.com/ultra-chic-boutique/

Every year, Max I. Walker customers donate dresses – prom, wedding, bridesmaid, cocktail and other formal gowns – at locations all across the Metro, and then Max I. Walker’s employees generously clean, press and store them.  Once ready, the dresses are sold for just $30 (cash only) at the Ultra Chic Boutique dress sale event in February.  From 2007 to 2017, the proceeds were donated to the Open Door Mission's Lydia House.

Starting in 2018, the Max I. Walker family began partnering with the Nebraska Alzheimer's Association for the Ultra Chic Boutique.  At the 2018 & 2019 events, they raised a total of $38,000 for this worthy cause!

Casey Walker and Steph Dorland from Max I. Walker join Mike Hogan "Live & Local" to discuss the program, remind everyone that dresses are accepted year round, and reflect on how Alzheimer's touches each and every one of us.

If you have an old prom dress, bridesmaid's dress or any dresses you'll never wear again, simply drop them off at your nearest Max I. Walker location. They take dress donations year round!  They'll clean, press and prepare your gowns, transforming them into the dress of someone's dreams, then store them until next year's big day.  The next Ultra Chic Boutique is Saturday, February 1, 2020.
