Morning Edition

Emily Chen-Newton/KIOS

In the interest of bringing our listeners in the greater Omaha/Council Bluffs community more local programming and current news, KIOS-FM is happy to announce some changes that started this week.

Matthias Jeske joined KIOS-FM in June of 2018 and has proven himself a very capable, personable, and talented host.  As of Monday October 28th, he was promoted to the role of “Morning Edition” host.  And we are very excited to have him with the team full-time and to start our weekday mornings with him.

NPR's Noel King talks to historian Andrew Chaikin about the things that went wrong during the Apollo 11 moon landing and made the historic mission extremely dangerous.  Chaikin wrote the book: "A Man on the Moon: The Voyages of the Apollo Astronauts."

·        We’re airing national NPR Newscasts at the “bottom” of the hour (on the half hour), rather than offering two slightly shorter newscasts during the hour.

"Morning Edition" Format Changes Start Today

Aug 13, 2018

You may notice this morning and going forward that NPR’s “Morning Edition” has changed the  format.  Here’s a bit of behind-the-scenes radio knowledge: All national public radio shows have something called a clock. Broadcast clocks are templates that track the timing of a show's stories and interviews, newscasts, funding credits, and opportunities for local content each day.
